NIES Conferences: Environmental Policy-making in a Dynamic World

NIES – Nordic Network for Interdisciplinary Environmental Studies – invited scholars to a conference to discuss the importance of a dialogue between the various sciences and policy-makers in environmental issues. The conference was held in Hornafjörður and Reykjavík, Iceland, from May 15th to the 19th, 2012.

I screened a short anthropological video-essay, or prose, titled Environing (Umhverfing in Icelandic). Environing is a term for when man turns nature into environment, originally created by Páll Skúlason (1945-2015), environmentalist, philosopher and Rektor of the University of Iceland.

You can also watch the video in the original language, Icelandic .
